Description Lots of Common Ground

Mobile network operators (MNOs) share several goals with developers in relation to their app businesses. They each want to deliver great user experiences by launching more and better applications with consistent performance. Both groups need viable and sustainable commercial models. Ultimately, they both want to see consumers using and paying for more apps more frequently. To deliver on these objectives, developers need access to high-performance networks, and operators require creative and compelling content. To achieve their shared goals, these two groups must find a way to partner effectively. But each group also has some needs of its own (see Exhibit 1). In this report, we examine this divergence in objectives, its consequences and how the gap can be bridged. We will focus predominantly on the use of network enablers to enhance mobile apps.
